A few months ago I would have said my favorite place to dance was Asheville or Jonesborough. Now at the moment I would say Rehoboth, Concord or Brown University. With my friends from college we were always dancing in hallways, classrooms the occasional dance hall, I was constantly thrown around, learning new dips and lifts. I’m not going to lie but I miss that a bit, but only a tiny morsel. What helped me get over this part of dancing I missed, you might ask. It was Monday night. Driving through snow for the first time since getting my car, going to dance with a wonderful group of friends, the ridiculousness that happened during the dance, waltzing, walking through snow with my toe shoes on (I had snow between my toes!), lots of laughter, snowball fights (snowball being thrown into my car’s open window), and did I mention a lot of laughing. To be honest I’ve been a bit depressed lately, some nights dancing didn’t quite help, however Monday night was the best thing the could have happened for my soul. I need more nights and days like that. And I can tell you I am so unbelievably grateful for the new group of friends I have in Rhode Island, it’s about the best thing about the state.

From this point on I am going to not let anything get me down, and beat this thing that forced me into a hurting and depressed state for most of this year. I don’t want to call it a New Year Resolution, but that’s what it sounds like.

Thoughts? I would love to hear them…
