365 entry 2April2010

3 Apr

So this entry was inspired by the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It’s one of those movies that kind of makes you think.

To grow up from young to old is normal.

To grow up from old to young at least physically is different.

Imagine if you were born the size of an infant but had the physical characteristics of an old woman or old man with the mental characteristics of a child, and continued to grow younger, and die as an infant with the mental characteristics of an elderly person.

I for one would be afraid to fall in love, do the things I really wished to do, being questioned all the time and having to explain why I am so different from everybody else. Or would I use my difference to live my life in the ways I wanted to and forget about what others around may say.

Through being so different you learn, experience, think about things so differently.

You find what you are passionate about.. because you don’t know when it will be your last day.

“Some people, were born to sit by a river. Some get struck by lightning. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people, dance.”-Benjamin Button, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I finally saw this movie last weekend, and those last words make my skin tingle the way it does when nothing else in the world can clue you in to how perfect something is.

So I just reread this comment… and remembering the last time I watched the movie, I remember getting goosebumps.
